There are many ways to know if a person loses fat. You can just look at their physical appearance and tell. You can just weigh him and compare with his previous weight. However, those are just normal ways which may not be accurate. This article will give you a more accurate way. It will show you how to measure body fat loss accurately.

The tip is that we are going to use the parameter called “Body Mass Index” or BMI. This is more accurate because we not only use your weight as the main index, but we also use your height. Here is the formulation to calculate your BMI.

Body Mass Index is a parameter that shows your body mass using your weight and height to be calculated. It is used to lessen the inaccuracy of measuring just your weight without using height.

Body Mass Index (BMI) is equal to your weight in kilogram divided by your weight in meters two times. And this is how to read the value you got from the formulation.

Below 20 : Your weight is below average.
20-24.9 : Your weight is standard.
25-29.9 : You are overweight.
30-39.9 : You are fat
More than 40 : You are obese.

As for Asian people, you will need to change the above number of 20 to 18.5.

You may wonder how you are going to determine and measure your fat loss using BMI. It is simple. You can use your current body mass index and compare with your past BMI. If it is lower, you have some body fat loss.

Another way is that you can use a fat measurement machine. Some special weighing scales do have that. With less than a hundred US dollar, you can get a scale like that. You can add your age and sex onto the parameters used in the scale. It is therefore more accurate than BMI.

I don’t recommend a small handheld machine to measure fat since it is not that accurate. If you want to buy handheld fat measurement machine, buy the one that requires you to use both hands to grip. They are more reliable.

When you are trying to lose body fat, the best way to do it is still by proper dieting and exercise. Avoid taking slimming pills at all cost, they do more harm than good.
