You have to distinguish what are bad and good. Then you need to keep the good ones and abandon the bad ones. -Drink enough water first. You may be hungry for food but water is very important for your body no matter if you are pregnant. You have to emphasize on drinking enough clean water before on other things. The recommendation is to drink the minimum of eight big glasses of water a day. Pregnant women tend to have more thirst than regular women. So, you have to make sure that you fulfill this need.

-Don’t over-indulge your stomach. You may want some peculiar foods or eat at irregular time. Some time you may want to have ridiculous amount of foods that you have never had before. If you allow that, you may do your health more harm than good. Therefore, it is important to understand what should and what should not be taken while you are pregnant.

- Having balanced foods is the best. You will need to understand basic nutrition knowledge when you are pregnant. You will have to eat more during the period but you will have to make sure that you have what your body needs at the right amount and proportion. The major nutrients including carbohydrate, protein, lipid, vitamins and minerals should be allocated at your best knowledge since they will be good for you and your baby. Have a lot of fibers and vegetables will have your digestive system and you will have less problem while you are in the period.

There are still many practices that you will need to learn to have healthy diet during your pregnancy. However, the three points raised here are the basics and will be useful for you if you can follow them.
