Weight Gain and Pregnancy: How Much Weight I should Gain from the Pregnancy
Weight gain and pregnancy comes together in normal circumstance. One thing that a woman has to know is that she must gain weight when she gets pregnant. If she loses weight during her pregnancy, she might need to see the doctor soonest. So, everyone knows that woman will gain more weight when they get pregnant. The problem is how much weight gain is the optimal one. That depends on the three factors. The amount of food she has, the body structure she has and how many babies she has. Read on and find out.
1 The amount and type of food:
Pregnant ladies do not have to eat a lot more foods than they used to do. Some think that they will have to double their food intake so that the body can spare for their baby. That is a wrong impression. Actually, you only need 100-300 calories more when you are pregnant. That is equivalent to a 250ml box of soy bean milk. Eating more than what you need will put more unnecessary weight on you. Make sure that you have the right type of foods to give your baby the best nutrients.
2 The body structure:
If you are an average size lady, you should put on 25-35 pounds. For an underweight body, the lady should put on 28-40 pounds. And if you are overweight, you should not put on more than 25 pounds. 15-25 pounds is the optimal weight gain during your pregnancy with this type of structure.
3 The number of babies:
It will be a lot different if you are carrying a single baby or twins. If you are having twins, you will put on the weight of around 37-54 pounds. You can do the math if you are having more than two babies at the same time.
Weight gain and pregnancy can happen to you. You should not be much worried about either of them. Just think about what you can do afterwards when you have a little one comes out to see the world.
